Google Analytics: Basic Beginner’s Guide
Google Analytics (GA) is a free analytics service that tracks both the source of traffic and the activity on your website or app. With which it allows you to measure the performance of your website or application to be able to make decisions and thus grow your business.

Google Analytics has an extensive list of features, but the most important features would be:
- Traffic Reports:The most used functionality is the traffic reports. This gives you a comprehensive view of traffic to your website or app: how many visitors your website has, where they come from, how many pages they visit, how long they stay, etc.
- Event tracking:An event in Google Analytics is a user interaction or activity on your website or app that is being tracked. It allows you to get a more detailed picture of user interaction with your website or application.

- Goals:Google Analytics goals allow you to identify the key goals for your website and measure them. You can have up to twenty goals for each report view. The objectives can be divided:
— Macro: the most important objectives of your business.
— Micro: are those goals that contribute to your macro goals.
A goal could be, for example, a minimum of new visits per month on your website.
- Campaign Tracking:Measuring the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns is critical to the success of your business. It allows you to use custom URLs to track any of your campaigns, be it paid advertising, social media, email etc.
- Real- time reporting: Real-time allows you to track activity on your website as it happens. It is very interesting to see the users who are connected to your website, what pages they visit, what country the users are from, etc.

One of the most important parts of the GA dashboard is the reporting section. It is made up of five main types of reports:
- Real time:You can see what is happening right now on your website, such as how many visitors are on your website, what pages they are searching for, and how they found your page.
- Audience:allows you to understand your audience in more detail; demographics, location, devices they use, etc.
- Acquisition:how visitors find your website. Include the percentage of traffic that each channel directs to your site, whether it is organic traffic from search engines like Google, social networks or from other web pages.
- Behavior:how users behave once they are on your website. They include data such as visitors, time spent on your website, and bounce rate (the number of visitors who left your website after viewing just one page).
- Conversions:Conversion allows you to track the actions that users take on your website. This includes Google Analytics goals that can be used to measure how many times a particular action like filling out forms or purchasing a product is completed.
Google Analytics is an excellent tool for measuring your website traffic as it can provide you with the information you need to improve your website and maximize its performance. As a consequence, it will make you gradually reach your goals.
